Contemporary societies face many challenges that may require social change in the mass public, such as climate change or anti-democratic practices by political elites. I study when and how intergroup conflicts undermine public support for social change. I am particularly interested in the development and evaluation of scalable interventions that reduce such intergroup conflicts and increase support for social change in the mass public. To achieve this goal, I organize experimental mass collaboration projects that accelerate scientific progress by bringing together the ideas from researchers across the social sciences and practitioners and empirically identifying which ideas are the most promising.
