Dr. Greig has gained national recognition as an advocate for increased access for low-income and Hispanic students.

Over the past 28 years Dr. Greig has served NDNU in many roles including professor, dean of the School of Education and Leadership, provost, and now as president. As a faculty member she served on numerous governance committees and was president of the Faculty Senate for three years from 1996-1999.

She holds a BA in Education from Wheaton College (IL), an MA in Reading Education from Santa Clara University, a second MA in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Education from Stanford University. Dr. Greig has served as a participant or chair of accreditation teams for the Senior Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing for colleges and universities all over the state of California. She currently serves on the Executive Board of California Campus Compact, the Executive Committee of the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, and the Board of Directors of the Council of Independent Colleges. Most recently she was appointed by California Governor Jerry Brown as a commissioner on the California Student Aid Commission.

Before coming to NDNU in 1988, Dr. Greig was a lecturer at San Jose State University and elementary and middle school teacher. Her chief academic interests are in understanding and facilitating how teaching and learning occur.
