What's Possible in Graduate Education at Stanford?

We are eager to hear from you!

Since VPGE’s launch in 2007, we have been working collaboratively throughout the University to build on Stanford’s legacy of academic excellence in graduate education and to enrich students’ experiences. Together, we encourage a spirit of exploration by providing innovative programs and initiatives that strengthen and complement those of graduate degree programs.

As we plan for the next decade, we seek your perspectives to learn what members of our community most value and what more we can do to further enhance graduate education and improve students’ experiences at Stanford.

Your ideas will inform our deliberations -- among VPGE; Directors of Graduate Studies; seven Schools, departments and programs; Committee on Graduate Studies; Graduate Life Office; Graduate Student Council; Graduate Diversity Staff Council; and others -- to develop new initiatives and programming to better serve graduate students across the University. You can also submit specific proposals through the University’s long-range planning process.

We pose two open-ended questions below, and encourage you to be aspirational in your responses—however large or small, whether urgent or over the next decade and beyond.

  1. What do you most value about graduate education at Stanford?

  2. Looking ahead, what could be done to enhance the quality of graduate education and graduate students’ experiences at Stanford?

Once you click the button below you will be asked to authenticate that you are a member of the Stanford community. Your response will be anonymous, although you will have the option of telling us about yourself. We're keeping the portal open past our initial April 30, 2017 deadline, so please feel free to respond anytime.
