Crucial Conversations: Including Implications of Race, Gender and Power: Session 2

In this highly interactive workshop, we will examine how conversations become difficult when the stakes are high, emotions escalate and we fear damage to relationships or other negative consequences.  Our approach will include attention to the ways conversations can become even more challenging when there are differences of race, gender, power or authority. Participants are encouraged to bring specific examples of real situations they are facing (or have faced in the past) for analysis in discussions and practice in break out room exercises.

Mastery of negotiation is a life skill. We all negotiate every day with colleagues, bosses, partners, friends, clients, and many others. This workshop is a dynamic mix of theory, demonstration, skills exercises, and role play practice intended to increase your confidence and effectiveness in any negotiation you undertake.

Participation in both sessions is required. The workshop is highly interactive and experiential and participants are expected to be on time and prepared for each session.

Learn how to negotiate with colleagues, bosses, partners, friends, clients, and many others. 

Through a dynamic mix of theory, demonstration, and practice, this two-session workshop provides a solid foundation for more principled, persuasive, and successful negotiation in a variety of contexts.

Negotiation Matters will take place on the following two Tuesdays: Feb. 4 & 11 from 4 - 8 PM. Due to the workshop's interactive format, full participation in both sessions is required.

Compelling Communication: Application Deadline

This two-session Compelling Communication workshop gives you the skills and practice you need for your next important presentation, such as a qualifying exam, conference presentation, research meeting, or job talk.

Compelling Communication will take place on the following two Mondays: Oct. 7 & 14 from 4:45 - 6:15 PM. Due to the workshop's interactive format, full participation in both sessions is required.
