Designing the Professional Mini Workshop: Ideate and Prototype Your Career: Session 2

In this highly interactive, two-session workshop, you will apply the innovation principles of design thinking to the "wicked problem" of designing your life and vocation in and beyond Stanford. This workshop offers you the opportunity to approach these lifelong questions with a structured framework and work out your ideas in conversation with your graduate peers.

Participation in both sessions is required. The workshop is highly experiential and participants are expected to be on time and prepared for each session.

In this highly interactive, two-session workshop, you will apply the innovation principles of design thinking to the "wicked problem" of designing your life and vocation in and beyond Stanford. This workshop offers you the opportunity to approach these lifelong questions with a structured framework and work out your ideas in conversation with your graduate peers. It is especially useful for students who are just beginning their career exploration or would like structured space to reflect on their interests.

Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference

The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and support women in the field. WiDS started as a conference at Stanford in November 2015. Now, WiDS includes a global conference, with 150+ regional events worldwide; a datathon, encouraging participants to hone their skills; and a podcast, featuring leaders in the field talking about their work, and their journeys. WiDS will be held at Stanford University, at 150+ regional events hosted by WiDS Ambassadors, and available via livestream.

Break Through: Women in Silicon Valley, Womenomics in Japan

Gender inequality in the workplace is still a reality and an issue that must be tackled head-on in Silicon Valley and Japan. In 2017, the World Economic Forum reported for the first time in 10 years, a widening of the global gender gap. Numerous efforts to break this cycle have been announced and implemented to varying degrees of success in both countries making it clear that we must do more, together.

6th Annual Education Forum: Innovations in Medical & Biosciences Education

The Stanford Office of Pediatric Education presents the 6th Annual Education Forum: Innovations in Medicine and Biosciences Education! This event will be a teaching and learning opportunity for faculty, trainees, students, postdocs, and staff and will include a Grand Rounds lecture. The education forum will highlight innovations in medical and bioscience education, and provide tools and strategies to be effective mentors, educators, and leaders.
