About Intelligent Lives

HAI's October 28-29 conference on AI Ethics, Policy, and Governance at Stanford University will convene experts and leaders from academia, industry, civil society, and government to explore critical and emerging issues related to understanding and guiding AI's human and societal impact. Through plenary discussions, breakout sessions, and workshops we will explore the latest research, delve into case studies, illuminate best practices, and build a global community of research, policy, and practice committed to ensuring that AI benefits humanity.

Stanford's ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education) chapter is hosting its annual spring colloquium. This year's colloquium addresses "The Fundamentals of Teaching" through a keynote presentation, a sequence of interactive workshops facilitated by teaching experts, and a panel discussion about applications, results, and challenges of fundamentals.

Let’s Have an Awesome Time Doing Science features high-profile researchers at Stanford giving non-research talks on subjects that are not often addressed in typical seminars but are nonetheless crucial for academic, personal, and professional development.

The Liberal Arts Diversity Officers (LADO) is a consortium of chief diversity officers and faculty working to promote best practices and innovative strategies in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education. They are interested in diversifying faculty membership at their respective liberal arts institutions. Join LADO representatives to learn more about academic careers and how to prepare for faculty positions at liberal arts colleges.

Join Stanford Libraries and the Stanford Research Computing Center at Gear Up for Research Computing. Gear Up is a regular series of research-focused events for graduate students, post-docs, faculty, and research staff from schools and departments across campus. Gear Up for Research Computing will include presentations, a panel, and lightning talks from Stanford researchers about how they use computing methods in their work.  Registration is free and lunch will be included.
