Leaders in Higher Education: Three Different Paths to the Same Presidency

Please join us for this very unique, first and only panel presentation by the most recent presidents of Foothill College located in Los Altos Hills, CA (5 miles from Stanford). Foothill’s 5th, 6th, and now 7th presidents will be sharing their personal and professional experiences and how they ended up becoming president of one of the most highly rated community colleges in the country, with a student body larger than Stanford’s. These presidents all are women, from Asian-Pacific Islander ancestry, and from 3rd generation, 1st generation, and recent immigrant backgrounds, respectively.

Fellows Forum: Mentoring Others in Research - Don't Be a Tormentor!

Are you taking on a mentoring role in your research group? Have you been asked to work with undergrads or junior grad students? This interactive workshop will give you practical skills and tools to prepare for a happy and productive mentoring relationship. Come ready to learn about yourself and how you can become an inspiring and effective research mentor – not a tormentor!

Connecting with Leaders: Knowledge, Wisdom, and Community Building

The Connecting with Leaders program is an opportunity for students to connect with established leaders who will share their knowledge, wisdom, and sense of community. The event will present four distinguished leader fellows from the Distinguished Careers Institute in a panel discussion, followed by an informal Q&A, and a reception for networking opportunities. Apart from the four highlighted fellows, other select fellows will be in attendance eager to meet graduate students and build connections.
