In a student-led conversation, Prime Minister Harper will discuss his reflections and insights on leadership and management. Stephen J. Harper served as Canada's 22nd prime minister from 2006 to 2015. He now leads an international consulting practice advising private equity, venture capital and pension funds. For almost a decade as prime minister, he led Canada through complex geopolitical, security and economic challenges. Under his leadership, Canada emerged from the 2008 economic crisis faster and stronger than its peers.

View From The Top: Ginni Rometty, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM

In a student-led conversation, Rometty will discuss her reflections and insights on leadership and management. Rometty began her career with IBM in 1981 in Detroit. Since then she has held a series of leadership positions, most recently as senior vice president and group executive, IBM sales, marketing, and strategy. Earlier she served as senior vice president, IBM Global Business Services, where she led the successful integration of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting.

Management Matters: Application Deadline

Management Matters is a comprehensive, three-session workshop focuses on simple principles and guidelines that, once learned, can make the process of managing others enjoyable and effective, and help you succeed in whatever career path you choose.

Management Matters will take place on the following three Tuesdays: Jan. 30, Feb. 6, & Feb. 13 from 4:30 - 7 PM. Due to the workshop's interactive format, full participation in all three sessions is required.

Connect with a diverse group of graduate students to informally discuss "big questions" or learn about their research and hot topics in their field.

Over lunch at 12 PM or dinner at 4:30 PM or 6 PM, 12 students and a faculty or staff facilitator either choose complex, real-world questions to discuss over the course of multiple sessions, or, for those who choose the Outside the [Lunch] Box group, discuss their own research or a hot topic in their field.
