Racism & Resistance: A Roundtable on Asian American Experiences in the Pandemic

As the nation struggles to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States has witnessed a troubling increase in violence and racist incidents targeting people with Asian backgrounds. Join Asian American Activities Center, Asian American Students Association, Asian American Studies, Okada, and Stanford Asian Pacific American Alumni Club in a roundtable discussion where our panelists will share with us the much-longer history of discrimination against Asians in the United States; the current challenge during the pandemic; and what we can do about it today.

How to Influence Local Government

Join us for a virtual workshop on how to engage your local government on issues of concern to you and your local community. Gain a better understanding of the Bay Area's local government decision-making processes, explore ways to to make your voice heard and connect with your city officials and agencies, and learn about resources for staying on top of issues in your local community. Kris Kasianovitz, the Government Information Librarian for International, State and Local Documents at the Stanford Green Library, will conduct this digital workshop.

Marissa West is currently the Chief Engineer of the GMC Sierra Heavy Duty and the Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty Truck programs.
