Management Matters: Application Deadline

Management Matters is a comprehensive, three-session workshop focuses on simple principles and guidelines that, once learned, can make the process of managing others enjoyable and effective, and help you succeed in whatever career path you choose.

Management Matters will take place on the following three Tuesdays: Jan. 30, Feb. 6, & Feb. 13 from 4:30 - 7 PM. Due to the workshop's interactive format, full participation in all three sessions is required.

Solo Success: How to Thrive in the Academy When You’re the Only ______ in Your Department

The Solo Success Workshop is specifically designed to address the unique concerns of underrepresented graduate students and postdoctoral scholars entering academia.
 
Facilitated by Dr. Anthony Ocampo, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars will learn about common topics described by underrepresented faculty:
• Feeling overwhelmed by service requests related to diversity
• Pressure to serve as role models, advisors and mentors to all _______ students

12@12 / 12@6: Deadline

Connect with a diverse group of graduate students to informally discuss "big questions" or learn about their research and hot topics in their field.

Over lunch at 12 PM or dinner at 4:30 PM or 6 PM, 12 students and a faculty or staff facilitator either choose complex, real-world questions to discuss over the course of multiple sessions, or, for those who choose the Outside the [Lunch] Box group, discuss their own research or a hot topic in their field.

Leadership Dinner: Mariann Byerwalter

Leadership Dinners bring proven leaders from various arenas together with a small group of graduate students for dinner and informal discussion about what it means to be a leader and to lead organizations, movements, and people. 

Mariann Byerwalter, chairman, SRI International

Mariann Byerwalter is chairman of the board of directors for SRI International. Prior to this, Byerwalter served as chairman of the board of directors of Stanford Hospital and Clinics from 2006 to 2013. She also served as the Interim President and CEO of Stanford Health Care in 2016.
