In this workshop you'll explore frameworks and practice tools that help increase a living sense of purpose in your life. Key activities will include unearthing your core values, examining your unique strengths, connecting authentically with peers around common life questions, and designing purpose projects to help you prototype a new way of living. This workshop is appropriate for graduate students of all disciplines and at any phase of your Stanford journey.

Explore and practice essential tools for living a life of authenticity, connection, and impact.

Graduate school is a time of powerful academic, professional, and personal exploration. It's also the launching pad for the next phase of life. However, how many of us set aside time and energy to reflect with depth on our life purposes? Living on purpose, so to speak, doesn't occur accidentally. Instead, it necessitates intentional cultivation of mindsets and skills that amplify our lived experiences of authenticity, connection, and impact.

Quick Bytes: From Anxiety to Adventure - What is Your "Stress Mindset"

Based on Kelly McGonigal’s TED Talk (“How to make stress your friend”) and Book (“The Upside of Stress”), this workshop will give participants a basic introduction to mindset science and then dive into its application to the issue of stress coping. Be prepared to befriend stress.

Fellows Forum: Time Mastery: Strategies That Promote Productivity

Time management is a challenge in graduate school when you’re balancing coursework, teaching, research, and/or dissertation writing. In this workshop, you’ll learn tools and methods for planning effectively and working with focus. Learn to tailor strategies for planning your quarter, for planning a balanced week, and for setting up your workspace, resulting in greater focus, motivation, and productivity.

Take a break, pet a dog

The Terman Engineering Library is pleased to have therapy dogs again this quarter. Please join us in the Y2E2 Courtyard on the second Thursday of the month from 3-4pm. Dog and owner teams from Pet Partners will be providing relaxation and stress relief. In the event of rain, look for us under the covered walkway. Please join us!

Cultivating Healthy Relationships: Application Deadline

Learn how to build healthy relationships in graduate school and in life.

Apply psychological, sociological, and cultural perspectives to investigate the questions, “What is a healthy relationship?” and “How do I know if my relationships are healthy?” In this interactive multi-day workshop you will explore the structures of healthy relationships, learning about communication styles, attachment, attunement, individuation, cultural scripts, gender roles, and power dynamics.
