Gear Up for Research Computing

Join Stanford Libraries and the Stanford Research Computing Center at Gear Up for Research Computing. Gear Up is a regular series of research-focused events for graduate students, post-docs, faculty, and research staff from schools and departments across campus. Gear Up for Research Computing will include presentations, a panel, and lightning talks from Stanford researchers about how they use computing methods in their work.  Registration is free and lunch will be included.

Designing the Professional Mini Workshop: Ideate and Prototype Your Career: Session 2

In this highly interactive, two-session workshop, you will apply the innovation principles of design thinking to the "wicked problem" of designing your life and vocation in and beyond Stanford. This workshop offers you the opportunity to approach these lifelong questions with a structured framework and work out your ideas in conversation with your graduate peers.

Participation in both sessions is required. The workshop is highly experiential and participants are expected to be on time and prepared for each session.

This workshop offers you the opportunity to approach these lifelong questions with a structured framework and work out your ideas in conversation with your graduate peers. It is especially useful for students who are just beginning their career exploration or would like structured space to reflect on their interests.

Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference

The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and support women in the field. WiDS started as a conference at Stanford in November 2015. Now, WiDS includes a global conference, with 150+ regional events worldwide; a datathon, encouraging participants to hone their skills; and a podcast, featuring leaders in the field talking about their work, and their journeys. WiDS will be held at Stanford University, at 150+ regional events hosted by WiDS Ambassadors, and available via livestream.

Negotiation Matters: Application Deadline

Learn how to negotiate with colleagues, bosses, partners, friends, clients, and many others. 

Through a dynamic mix of theory, demonstration, and practice, this three-session workshop provides a solid foundation for more principled, persuasive, and successful negotiation in a variety of contexts.

Negotiation Matters will take place on the following three Wednesdays: Jan. 23, Jan. 30, & Feb. 6 from 4:30 - 7 PM. Due to the workshop's interactive format, full participation in all three sessions is required.
