The HAI Spring Conference zeroes in on the latest, best research on cognitive science, neuroscience, vision, language, and thought, informing the pursuit of artificial intelligence.  

QUESTIONS TO BE ADDRESSED INCLUDE: 

  • How can we hope to build an artificial intelligence when we still understand so little about human intelligence?
  • How can we build a synergistic partnership between cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence?

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: 

Career Accelerator: Connect, Communicate, and Translate Your Academic Skills into Diverse Careers: Session 2

This interactive, two-session workshop provides tools and processes for PhD students to identify and communicate professional interests and transferable skills for careers beyond the professoriate. You will explore your interests and skills, translate your current experiences to audiences outside of academia, and initiate a plan to develop professional connections. You will work out your ideas in conversation with your graduate peers. The workshop will be especially useful for students who are early in their exploration of careers.

Living on Purpose: Session 3

In this workshop you'll explore frameworks and practice tools that help increase a living sense of purpose in your life. Key activities will include unearthing your core values, examining your unique strengths, connecting authentically with peers around common life questions, and designing purpose projects to help you prototype a new way of living. This workshop is appropriate for graduate students of all disciplines and at any phase of your Stanford journey.

TA Orientation

Each quarter, we host a TA Orientation to help prepare graduate students to teach at Stanford. This event is highly recommended for all new TAs and is also open to returning TAs, postdocs, and other members of the campus community.

Living on Purpose: Application Deadline

Explore and practice essential tools for living a life of authenticity, connection, and impact.

Graduate school is a time of powerful academic, professional, and personal exploration. It's also the launching pad for the next phase of life. However, how many of us set aside time and energy to reflect with depth on our life purposes? Living on purpose, so to speak, doesn't occur accidentally. Instead, it necessitates intentional cultivation of mindsets and skills that amplify our lived experiences of authenticity, connection, and impact.
