Leadership from the Inside Out: Application Deadline

Leadership from the Inside Out: Know Yourself Before Leading Others focuses on helping participants assess some of their core leadership strengths and areas for development. Each session includes a substantial experiential component.

The workshop will take on May 1, 3, & 6 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Participation in all three sessions is required. The workshop is highly interactive and experiential and participants are expected to be on time and prepared for each session.

Gear Up for Research Computing

Join Stanford Libraries and the Stanford Research Computing Center at Gear Up for Research Computing. Gear Up is a regular series of research-focused events for graduate students, post-docs, faculty, and research staff from schools and departments across campus. Gear Up for Research Computing will include presentations, a panel, and lightning talks from Stanford researchers about how they use computing methods in their work.  Registration is free and lunch will be included.

Storytelling in Science and the Path to the Popular Press

Want to write a non-fiction book for a popular audience? Interested in reaching beyond the academic community and sharing a story from your years of research? Publishing with apopular press is a challenging process and one distinctly different from the path to creating an academic book. Join author and Stanford Ph.D. graduate Lauren E. Oakes for a workshop on navigating the popular book-writing process for scholars, from idea to execution to publication and marketing. For the highly motivated faculty member, Ph.D. student, or postdoc with a book idea in mind.

Negotiation Matters: Application Deadline

Learn how to negotiate with colleagues, bosses, partners, friends, clients, and many others. 

Through a dynamic mix of theory, demonstration, and practice, this three-session workshop provides a solid foundation for more principled, persuasive, and successful negotiation in a variety of contexts.

Negotiation Matters will take place on the following three Wednesdays: Jan. 23, Jan. 30, & Feb. 6 from 4:30 - 7 PM. Due to the workshop's interactive format, full participation in all three sessions is required.
