Technical Communication Consulting

Offered through the School of Engineering, the Technical Communication Program seeks to help students improve their technical writing and speaking skills. Writing tutors from the Technical Communication Program can help students from all disciplines with short-term projects like job applications, statements of purpose, and short papers. Note that instruction is emphasized during these sessions, and tutors are not an editing service. Open to all students; appointments can be made online.

ACLS Leading Edge Fellowships

The ACLS Leading Edge Fellowships program places recent PhDs from the humanities and related social sciences in two-year staff positions at partnering organizations in government and the nonprofit sector, with the goal of demonstrating that doctoral-level study of the humanities have wide application within and beyond the academy. Fellows participate in the substantive work of these organizations and receive professional mentoring. Applications are due in the spring.

Contemplation by Design

Stanford Medicine's Contemplation by Design (CBD) is a campus-wide, multidisciplinary program designed to encourage all members of the Stanford community to enjoy the power of the pause. Quarterly, CBD classes, lectures, workshops, concerts and mixed media events are offered all around campus to provide skill-building experiences that further balance, tranquility, resilience and creative excellence. Annually, the week-long CBD Summit brings the Stanford community together in recognizing the importance of quieting the thinking mind and refreshing oneself through quiet contemplation.
