I work on improving life for people with type 1 diabetes by making glucose monitoring smarter and more personal. Current continuous glucose monitors often use fixed alarm settings, which can be frustrating and lead to alarm fatigue. I use data from blood sugar sensors and wearable devices to create algorithms that adjust alerts based on each person’s patterns, daily activities, and insulin use. Working with my mentors at Stanford in engineering and medicine, I also design tools that are easy for doctors and patients to understand and use. My goal is to prevent dangerous low blood sugar events, reduce stress for patients and families, and help doctors provide better, more efficient care.
