Sergio Camelo
Sergio Camelo is a PhD candidate at the Stanford Institute for Computational & Mathematical Engineering (ICME). His research leverages optimization and machine learning for the design of digital platforms to make food supply chains more transparent and sustainable. Being a first gen and low income international student from Colombia, Sergio enjoys mentoring other Latinx students to apply for grad school in the US. He is also deeply interested in improving the experience of students with disabilities in academia. Sergio holds an MSc in mathematics and a BSc in mathematics and economics from Los Andes University in Colombia. In his free time, Sergio enjoys dancing, camping, and meditating.
