Riley Culberg

Riley is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering. He uses ice penetrating radar to study the near-surface hydrology of ice sheets and glaciers as well as the role that this system plays in their mass balance and stability in a warming world. He is particularly interested in climate controls on the flow, storage, and refreezing of subsurface water on the Greenland Ice Sheet and Antarctic ice shelves. He received his MA from Stanford University and his BA in Computer Science and Geospatial Information Science from the United States Military Academy. Outside of research, Riley enjoys orienteering, trail running, and baking.
