Preeti Vani Srinivasan

I study prosocial behavior and altruism, especially as these behaviors intersect with diversity and inclusion initiatives in the workplace. More specifically, I examine when, why, and how individual actors decide to mobilize for social causes as well as how we can inspire more allyship behaviors on an individual level. I design experiments to test how different framing of individuals, groups, organizations, and social causes can embolden individual actors to join the fight for social change. My first research stream examines the conditions under which individuals make decisions to engage in social causes. My second stream examines perceptions of different types of actors who engage in social movements. In a nutshell, my research integrates psychology, economics, sociology, and political science — all with a social justice twist.
