About

Luis Armona is a PhD candidate in Economics at Stanford University. His research interests lie in the economics of education and industrial organization. His job market paper studies the interaction between federal student aid and sub-baccalaureate education markets, asking how the current aid system could be redesigned to improve the quality of colleges attended by students. Luis also actively researches how to incorporate machine learning methods into existing economics models. He is passionate about using equilibrium econometric models to uncover the unintended consequences of government interventions, in order to prescribe more appropriate policies that account for both demand and supply responses.
