Lisa Hummel

Lisa Hummel is a 6th Ph.D. candidate in sociology. She studies gender and politics, with a focus on identity and ideology for political conservatives living in California. In her dissertation she uses qualitative methods to research how conservative women think about gender in their daily lives and in society. Also, using survey and experimental methods she studies how observers view people based on their gender and politics. After graduating Lisa plans to become a professor. Prior to graduate school, Lisa received a B.A. in psychology and religion from Colgate University, and worked as a teacher.
