Josh Gagné

Josh Gagné is a PhD candidate in Sociology and the Center for Education Policy Analysis. His research tackles questions of racial and economic inequality with a focus on issues related to segregation, racial ideology, and methodological innovation. His dissertation makes novel use of large datasets from the US and Brazil to gain insights into racial segregation within schools, residential income segregation, and rates of police killing civilians. Josh is a first-generation/low-income (FLI) student passionate about advocating for traditionally excluded students. His other interests include climbing with his partner Melanie and trying to get their cat Jambalaya to reciprocate his affection.
