Nowadays, physicists are applying the stack and twist methodology to explore the most cutting-edge electronic or magnetic properties in two-dimensional materials and related moiré systems. However, research to date exclusively focuses on hexagonal symmetry. I plan to apply this approach to the layered halide perovskite family with distinct square symmetry and wide range of chemical compositions. Through collaboration with physics groups, we aim to deepen our understanding of perovskite interfaces and the coupling interactions, which is of great current interest in the fields of chemistry, physics, and materials science.
