Eric Gonzalez is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. He previously earned his MS degree from Stanford University and his BS degree from the University of Florida, both in mechanical engineering. Advised by Professor Sean Follmer in the SHAPE Lab, his research interests broadly lie at the intersection of haptics, perception, and human-computer interaction. For his dissertation, Eric is exploring how visual illusions can be used to augment and improve interactions with physical devices in virtual reality. Beyond research, he is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and empowering students from under-represented groups in STEM.
