Doga Cavdir

Doga is a PhD candidate at Stanford University’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics. For her dissertation, she investigates the correspondence of music and body movement to transfer this knowledge of embodiment to design accessible technologies. Her research focuses on the design of new musical instruments for increased accessibility, inclusion, and collaboration among people with diverse abilities. Outside academia, Doga performs with movement artists using her custom-designed instruments and fff (a female-identifying ensemble). Her work is featured by Bay Area art initiatives such as Center for New Music, Temescal Arts Center, and Kinetech Arts. Before Stanford, she received her BSc in Electrical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey.
