Anna Kogler

I am a third-year PhD student in environmental engineering, focusing on wastewater treatment, and a Stanford Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellow. In the Tarpeh Lab, I develop and evaluate electrochemical resource recovery technologies that selectively extract ammonia (a contaminant) from wastewater and capture it as a valuable product, including fertilizers and disinfectants. I also enjoy mentoring undergraduates in and outside the lab and collaborate with a Senegalese sanitation provider to organize internships for Senegalese students in Dakar. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, the outdoors through hiking, biking, backpacking, and running, and spending time with my cat Luna.
