I am a Bioengineering PhD student investigating cardiovascular diseases through primary cell and induced pluripotent stem cell models. As an undergraduate, I chose to study bioengineering because I loved math and science, especially biology. My love for research as an undergraduate drove me to apply to PhD programs. Along the way, I gained experience teaching and mentoring in the classroom and in the lab, and I realized that I loved teaching too! I hope to one day be a professor who instills in her students both a love of learning and the belief that they are capable of success in their learning. I am excited to participate in the PFP program and look forward to learning more about teaching and the experiences of faculty at a teaching college.
