The Stanford Alumni Association recently recognized undergraduate and graduate students with the 2018 Outstanding Achievement Award, Class of 2018 Award of Excellence and 2018 Graduate Student Community Impact Award.

The 2018 Graduate Student Community Impact Award was given to 34 graduate students. This award recognizes graduate students who have enhanced the Stanford community through exemplary leadership of a student organization, creation of an event or program or other unique campus contributions. Faculty and staff nominated students who have fostered a sense of enthusiasm and belonging among fellow grad students.

Recipients of the 2018 Graduate Student Community Impact Award include: 
Faaris (Fares) Akremi, a recipient of the 2017 VPGE Academic Achievement Award for the Queer Student Resources Center;
Juan Arias, a 2018 DARE Fellow, 2014 EDGE-SBE Fellow, and EDGE Mentor;
Tina Cheuk, a 2014 EDGE-SBE Fellow and DIF funding recipient;
Kia Darling-Hammond, a 2014 EDGE-SBE Fellow;
Julie Fogarty, a 2018 Gerald J. Lieberman Fellow and SPICE funding recipient;
Karina Gutierrez, a 2018 DARE Fellow and EDGE mentor;
Carlos Medina, a 2017 DARE Fellow;
Courtney Peña, a 2017 DARE Fellow and 2013 EDGE-SBE Fellow;
Shenglan Qiao, a 2015 Stanford Graduate Fellow and DIF funding recipient;
Joel Sanchez, a 2018 DARE Fellow, 2015 EDGE-STEM Fellow and EDGE Mentor;
Kelly Stifter, a 2015 EDGE-STEM Fellow and EDGE Mentor;
