Graduate Admissions: Info and Resource Support from VPGE
1. 2026-27 VPGE-Administered Fellowship Stipend Level
The 2026-27 stipend for VPGE-administered fellowships is set at $58,500 annually, $14,625 per quarter.
2. 2026-27 University Minimum Assistantship Level
In November 2024, Stanford and the Stanford Graduate Workers Union-United Electric Local 1043, negotiated and finalized a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Under the terms of this agreement the Minimum Assistantship rate, for a 50% appointment, will be:
- Academic Year 2024-2025 (effective January 1, 2025): $54,952 annualized ($13,513 per quarter)
- Academic Year 2025-2026: $56,348 annualized ($14,087 per quarter)
- Academic Year 2026-2027: $58,460 annualized ($14,615 per quarter)

4. Support for Graduate Recruitment
The VPGE Graduate Recruitment Portal provides tools, information, and promising practices that support graduate recruitment by schools, programs and departments. These include:
- a curated set of promising practices from throughout the Stanford community, including strategies to improve admissions and persuade admits to attend Stanford;
- data dashboards showing historical enrollment and admissions data to support long-term planning;
- and planning tools to improve recruitment.
