VPGE Graduate Advising Initiative

Excellent graduate advising is foundational to the Stanford graduate experience, and Stanford PhD graduates consistently provide high praise for their academic advisors. VPGE's Graduate Advising & Mentoring Initiative, created in 2025 in collaboration with the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, provides programs, practices, and resources aimed at enhancing the advising and mentorship skills of Stanford faculty. Our goal is to help you cultivate strong, supportive relationships with your graduate student advisees.
