Leadership Dinners

Dine with inspiring leaders from various industries and organizations. At Leadership Dinners, you will interact with proven leaders and a small group of graduate students over dinner at the Faculty Club.

Learning Objectives

By participating in a Leadership Dinner, you will:

  • learn from the experience of proven leaders
  • appreciate different leadership styles and strategies
  • practice your small-group conversation skills

Program Description

Leadership Dinners bring proven leaders from various arenas together with a small group of graduate students for dinner and informal discussion about what it means to be a leader and to lead organizations, movements, and people. This is a great opportunity to discuss leadership and career development in a small-group setting with individuals who have had a major impact in a variety of settings, ranging from business to government, philanthropy, and education.

Dinners are facilitated by Bernadine Chuck Fong, VPGE's director of leadership initiatives and special projects. Dr. Chuck Fong is President emerita of Foothill College, where she was also professor of psychology and child development. She is a former Stanford University Trustee. Her BA, MA, and PhD are all from Stanford.

Open to graduate students at any stage in any discipline or degree. Space is limited. Due to the program's interactive format, full participation in the Leadership Dinner is required.

If you are accepted you must confirm your place by submitting a Student Participation Fee Agreement, which authorizes VPGE to charge $50 to your Stanford bill – only if you do not fully participate in the event. You will receive a link to the Agreement and instructions if you are offered a place.
