A Community Conversation about the Global Pandemic

Event Details:

Thursday, March 26, 2020
12:00pm PDT

This event is open to:

Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne joins Vice Provost Stacey Bent to discuss the role of Stanford in fighting the global pandemic. President Tessier-Lavigne recently joined the presidents of Harvard and MIT to write an opinion published in the New York Times calling for 'drastic action' on the part of organizations and individuals to get ahead of the coronavirus. He will share his thoughts with Stacey on the evolving situation for an online audience of graduate students and postdocs.

Grab a lunch and join this virtual conversation; a live discussion will be followed by a moderated Q&A with the online audience.

The Stanford community of researchers and scholars plays a vital role in understanding the medical and societal aspects of the global pandemic. Stanford scholars inform our communities and the public at-large, and provide insight and guidance to individuals and policy-makers alike, because of our unique strengths in so many fields as a university. In this way, the university is engaged with the complexities of the current leadership challenge facing our globe, as well as our representatives and policy-makers.

Join the virtual conversation at 12PM on Thurs., Mar. 26 via Zoom: https://vpge.stanford.edu/community-conversations (Stanford WebLogin required; access to this webinar is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis).
